Doctor
Pokorny began working in the medical field as an orderly in the
emergency room at the age of 18. He continued working in the
hospital throughout his years in medical school at North Eastern
Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown Ohio. He
graduated from medical school as a member of the Alpha Omega
Alpha, the honor society for medical students. After medical
school, he went on to general and plastic surgery training at
St. Louis University Hospital. Following his plastic surgery
training, he did a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the
University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. He also
enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves and currently
serves at the rank of Major.
After training Dr. Pokorny worked at the Guthrie Clinic in
Sayre, Pennsylvania. He served as section chief of plastic
surgery for three years at the Guthrie Clinic before moving to
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he worked at Leber and Banducci
Plastic Surgery. Doctor Pokorny moved to North Carolina in
August of 2009 and established Carolina Coastal Plastic Surgery
.
The mission of Carolina Coastal Plastic Surgery is to serve the
plastic, cosmetic, hand, and reconstructive needs of northeast
North Carolina. Dr. Pokorny wants his patient’s to know that he
will always provide care regardless of the patient’s ability to
pay.
